Rotary International President’s Representative

Vance Lewis joined Cable and Wireless (now FLOW) in 1972, rose to VP of Network Services for the Leeward Islands between 1999 and 2002 as well as Chief Executive BVI from 2002 to 2008 following which he retired from the Company.

In 2004 he was appointed by the Government of the Virgin Islands, as Commissioner of the Constitution Review Commission for the period 2004 to 2005, charged with the Constitutional advancement for the British Virgin Islands.

He also served as the Special Advisor to the Minister for Communications and Works in the Government of the British Virgin Islands, specializing in the areas Telecommunications and Renewable Energy from August 2013 to January 2018 as well as Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the H Lavity Stoutt Community College between 2015 and 2017.

He is owner and Managing Director of VM Professional Services Ltd, President of Village Cay Marina Enterprises Ltd, Director and part owner of LVG Enterprises Ltd and Terminix BVI Ltd.

He is also currently CEO of the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park – the main Cruise port of the British Virgin Islands, since February 2018.

In the Philanthropic area, Vance joined Rotary in 1991 as a charter member of Rotary Club of Road Town. He was elected President of the club and served as such between 1996 and 1997, Assistant Governor BVI between 2007 - 2010 and Governor of District 7020 in 2012 - 2013 (the first BVI National to have been elected Rotary District Governor).

Since then he has been elected and appointed to numerous additional roles at District, Zone and Rotary International level.

He is a Discussion Leader at the Rotary Leadership Institute Sunshine Division (RLISD), Paul Harris Society member, Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation, member of the Bequest Society and several Rotary Action Groups and Fellowships.

He holds an HND in Telecommunications, an Executive Diploma in Business Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute of the United Kingdom.

He is married to Sophia and has 2 children - Trevon and Taryn, one stepdaughter Riiah, and 3 grandchildren.

He enjoys life, reading, sports and fine wines.
